Below is an example configuration that includes 4 participating routers, with 2 VRID’s.


  • VRRP default is 100.
  • If the VRRP router is the IP address owner (which
    means that the VRRP router IP address matches the VRRP VLAN IP address), the priority is 255 and
    cannot be changed
  • Highest priority makes the router the IP address owner
    • In the case of VRID 1, this will be Router 1
    • In the case of VRID 2, this will be Router 4
